The actual first Major is upon us, and the field seems wide open - mainly because Scottie Scheffler (who has never finished outside the top 20 in this event) isn't dominating the season. He also just had his 2nd kid a couple of weeks ago, so there's understandably some doubt about the clear # 1 favorite.

Defending champion Rory is now allegedly "freed up" after finally overcoming his demons at Augusta. But one reason only three players have ever repeated is because of all the extra-curricular activities required: champs dinner, extra media, rounds with the chairman, etc.

Rory is also not that far removed from a back injury, something Collin Morikawa is also dealing with. And Xander Schauffele had a severe rib injury last year, and hasn't won a "real" event since the Open in mid-2024.

Jon Rahm and Bryson are heavy betting-favorites, but there's always a question on how the LIV schedule might hinder their Masters prep.

Ludvig, Cameron Young, and Fleetwood would be first-time Major winners.

So, yeah... I think it's pretty wide open. And we're due for a seemingly random winner. So I'll take Chris Gotterup winning his Masters debut.

I have no idea who these people are.

Good luck!
