After a long season, the "Playoffs" are finally here!

To be fair, this year didn't feel like as much as a slog as previous PGA seasons. That's probably because I took a few weeks off from posting on this blog. But alas, here we are with the top 69 players of the season slugging it out for golf immortality.

Rory McIlroy has decided to skip the first event — The FedEx St. Jude Classic — because it literally does not matter. He's ranked 2nd, and can't fall back far enough to miss the next round. I'm fairly certain he could also skip next week and still make the finals at East Lake, which thankfully now is no longer a net event.

I'm shocked more guys aren't skipping. The heat index is going to be about 98 degrees each day. And while that's nothing for weekend hackers like myself... it's quite miserable for TOUR pros who play/practice 5+ days in a row.

JJ Spaun and Sam Stevens are the only non-selected golfers to make the playoffs. And the following were the most selected players who finished their season with zero points:

Sahith Theegala - 80% selected!

Will Zalatoris - 29%

Rickie Fowler - 29%

Brooks Koepka - 28%

Adam Scott - 13%

As I mentioned before, I don't think our top and bottom pool participants will change. But good luck to the rest of you fighting for a spot in the money!
