Patrick Reed won last week in Dubai — and nobody wrote him in. I miss Patrick Reed... and it sounds like he might not resign this year with LIV, which is crazy since their season starts next weekend. If he doesn't sign, he'll play the European Tour in hopes of finishing near the top of their standings for an automatic PGA TOUR card.

Nicolai Hojgaard was the only play in the desert to score some points in the pool.

Out in California, Scottie Scheffler won the first of 15 events this season (probably). He's definitely on a Tiger-like run. But he needs to keep racking up Majors to challenge him as the greatest ever. Luckily for Scottie, I don't see him sabotaging his career with NAVY Seal training or 5-course meals at Perkins.

After 17 years of sponsorship, this is the final year of the "Farmers Insurance Open." I wrote an entire article last week about Brooks Koepka returning at the AmEx... only to then realize I was a week early and his return is at Torrey Pines tomorrow. But that's the kind of analysis you should expect from a guy in last place and the only entry last week to not score at least 10 points.

And while Brooks is on my roster, I don't expect him to play well. He honestly hasn't been good in LIV or the Majors. So unless he starts treating these weaker fields like Majors, he might be a bust.

The field is decent, with Xander as the top ranked player (6th). Torrey Pines is difficult, and a lot of guys hate playing out there — opting to play the much easier TPC Scottsdale next week before back-to-back Signature events. What was once a gem on the schedule due to Tiger's annual attendance... The Farmers has been down on its luck.
