Scottie continues to win, and I couldn't be happier for him. My Scottie-less team is officially done, so I'm now rooting for him to win everything in the remainder of the season and "playoffs." And then... I hope he somehow loses the finals at East Lake, despite a 3-stroke "head start." It's the only way to expose the ridiculousness of the TOUR schedule and Championship format.

To recap my hopes and dreams... the Signature Events and Majors should be the TOUR season — 15 events max. Everything else is lower tier golf that only gets you into the Signatures and Majors. At the end of the year give out 100 cards - which are really just guaranteed spots in the Signatures next year. Kick out everyone else, no matter who they are (no exemptions!) to the lower events and let them work their way back up to the bigger events.

The drama around former "stars" (ie: Jordan Spieth) not making the top 100 would be worth watching. Also watching him play lower level events to climb back into the Signature TOUR is also good television.

Maybe we'll get there. But for now, we're told we should care about...

...the Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club, born and raised in North Detroit by Donald Ross in 1913. Rickie Fowler is the defending champ, and scores are usually sub -20.

The field stinks. Tom Kim and Cameron Young are the only two players in the top 25.

Skip this and go play a round outside if you can stand the heat.

Good luck!
