For the 5th time in six weeks, we have an elevated/signature/Major event! My senses would be overloaded if I had paid much attention since the Masters. The "ratings" might imply otherwise, but I'm sure most of you are in the same boat — casually tuning in on Sunday but not actually locked into the coverage and story lines at Doral or Quail Hollow.

But fear not, dear reader, as the most juiceless Major is now upon us. Which means something crazy will happen and this could be an all-timer.

The PGA Championship — which has no idea what it wants to be when it grows up — is here at Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania. This 1896 Donald Ross design last hosted a Major in 1962 when Gary Player beat Bob Goalby by a stroke to win $13,000.

The course is probably pretty solid, lots of good land movement and very interesting greens. But it's going to be pretty soft out there due to recent rain, and it'll set up for longer hitters.

I'm unfortunately going to miss most of the tourney, as I'll be in Texas checking out the site of next year's PGA Championship: Fields Ranch East — a course already receiving hate from players and media alike.

My "solution" to the PGA Championship problem is to lean further into it. Only go to courses that are accessible to "buddies trips." Chambers Bay, Bandon, Streamsong, Whistling Straits, etc. Vastly reduce tickets and accessibility to the grounds, making it a more intimate viewing experience for a select elite. The rest of us poors can watch on TV and dream of $600+ greens fees with our friends.

Good luck!
