Scottie Scheffler defended THE PLAYERS — first ever golfer to do so — with a bad neck and technically not his best stuff. The comparisons to Tiger are way too premature, but he's hitting the ball at Tiger-like levels. Using "true-strokes-gained" data from DataGolf... Scottie is twice as good as Tiger off the tee and around the greens, compared to their respective peers!
That might not sound believable, but most of Tiger's strokes gained was with approach shots and putting. He could put himself in some wild spots with the driver, and still hit the green. Scottie plays "boring golf." He hits a lot of fairways, and he's # 1 on tour (currently) in greens-in-regulation (78%). If he just has an average putting week, he should be in contention.
Speaking of contention, our leader — Richard D — scored the most points last week with 80! Finishes on his roster included: 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Absolutely unbelievable. Shout-out to Andy N who also scored 80 and vaulted up 25 spots.
This week is the Valspar Championship in Palm Harbor, with a surprisingly decent field. The last few years we've seen the likes of JT and Spieth tee it up at this event, only to then complain at Augusta that they played too much golf. Alas, here they are again.
Weather and wind will be an issue Friday and Saturday. These next three weeks are where the depth of your roster needs to shine, as we slowly limp into the first Major. And honestly, that's how the schedule should go. Big event with a great finish (Wyndham's lip-out at Sawgrass on 18 was painful)... followed by a few quiet weeks.
Any excitement we get is a bonus.

Good luck!
