Scottie Knows

Scottie Scheffler won his 2nd Masters in dominant fashion, surprising absolutely zero people in the process.
Fifty people (64%) selected Scottie in this pool. Everyone else (myself included) is an idiot. You have to go all the way down to 39th place (shout-out JW), to find the first entry who didn't select Scottie.
The thing is, I really like Scottie. But I always bet against Scottie — playing my usual role of contrarian. Part of me thinks it'll be easier to move up the standings if say, Rory finally learns to hit a wedge and Scottie's putter deteriorates. Instead, we get Rory telling the CBS telecast at Rivera (Week 7) that Scottie should try a mallet putter just to change things up.
Scottie shows up to the Arnold Palmer Invitational (Week 10) with a mallet putter, and proceeds to finish: 1st, 1st, T2, 1st in his next four events (he denies hearing Rory's comments).
I'm retiring betting against Scheffler. He's cost me too much money, and robbed me of fully enjoying the back-nine of the Masters — as my pick to win (Ludvig Aberg) slung a shot into the pond on 11 to officially eject. Not that it mattered... as Scottie effortlessly birdied 13, 14, and 16 to win by four.
The comparisons to Tiger are unavoidable, because there's no one else to compare — from a results or strokes-gained standpoint. Jordan Spieth from 2015-2017 comes to mind, but it was obvious back then his unpredictable play was routinely saved by his putter, something that can't be sustained for years on end. Whereas putting is Scheffler's worst skill-set — and he contends (usually wins) if he just putts average!
At this point, I'm not even sure who to put Scottie up against in the pool next season. Scheffler or 150 points? Would anyone take the free points? Certainly not me.
This week is a "Signature" event at the RBC Heritage in Harbour Town. The only top 10 player missing is Hovland — who is in the middle of a mental breakdown. Scottie is somehow playing again, despite the concerns of his wife going into labor.
This feels like a Xander or Rory victory... guys who can't get it done at Majors but feast on no-pressure PGA TOUR events.
I hate that the TOUR is hosting an allegedly meaningful tournament the week after a Major. It's an absolute lack of self-awareness, and cheapens their own product.
We also have an opposite field event at the Puntacana Championship... the only event that should be playing. Give everyone a break, and let the lower-level guys fight it out for elevated status.
But alas, we have this:

Good luck!
