Hideki won at Riviera last Sunday, his 9th carrier victory on TOUR. It was a slightly anti-climatic finish as Cantlay and Xander refused to make a charge. Nonetheless, a handful of you people got some monstrous points... led by Jake B. moving up the standings by 27 places!
The only surprising player news was Will Zalatoris, who might be back. After an injury sidelined him for nearly 1.5 years, he's had back-to-back strong finishes, and finished in the points for the first time since this event last year. His grouping with Morikawa (2.1) will be very interesting to watch.
The west coast swing is over, and the TOUR heads to the Mexico Open. Once an over-valued WGC cash grab, the end might be near for this event. Tony Finau (24) is the only player in the top 30. Only four guys are in the top 50.
Back in 2017 when these posts were in emails, I wrote: "The Mexico experiment is going to fail." It still exists... but I'm standing by my take. These non-signature weeks should probably just be Korn Ferry events. Use them to create churn in the signatures tournaments.
Ship Rickie Fowler south of the boarder in hopes to qualify for the Arnold Palmer Invitational. If he misses another cut, then he's gotta play next week at "The Bear Trap." At least there would be some intrigue as we follow the grind of certain "higher profile" players.
Instead, I guess I'll just check the leaderboard a few times, wondering why Vincent Norrman is on my roster.

Good luck!
