Rory McIlroy just won what might be the best golf tournament I've ever witnessed. The ups-and-downs were wild, beginning on the first hole, and at no point was the event lacking drama. It was professional golf at its best, and exactly what the sport needed.

But — as I love to point out — the Masters is not affiliated with the PGA TOUR. And the geniuses in Ponte Vedra can't stand the lack of attention. So they schedule a "signature" events the week after Majors.

Nobody wants this. Fans, players, television personnel at CBS... nobody.

We're tired and still trying to process what we just watched. We are not going to believe the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links is a big deal. We completely forgot the FedEx Cup was a thing.

Yes, nobody cares about you.
Yes, nobody cares about you.

At least we have a solid field this week, on a course with a different profile than normal TOUR stops. Go ahead and assume Scottie is going to win again.

And of course, it's a double-tournament week with the Puntacana Championship. Hooray!

Good luck!
