Viktor Hovland defeated Justin Thomas at the Valspar last weekend, in a fairly enjoyable tournament due to the surprisingly decent field and difficult Copperhead course. Viktor was on the record all season saying he has no idea where his ball is going. And yet, he picks up his first win in two years, and first points of our season. Golf is wild.

We've got another sneaky good field starting tomorrow at the Texas Children's Houston Open. World # 1&2 — Scottie and Rory — are teeing it up. Five others in the top 25 are joining them. The course — Memorial Park — is a municipal created by Tom Doak and Brooks Koepka in 2020. There aren't many bunkers as the duo felt they only penalize the weekend hackers who comprise the 60,000+ rounds played the rest of the year. Instead, the course uses short grass around the greens to propel missed shots away from the hole.

Get well soon, kids.

According to DataGolf, if you average all the strokes-gained skill-sets needed on every PGA TOUR course... it would equate to Memorial Park.

Like... exactly.

I guess that makes it more difficult to predict winners. Just assume Scottie and Rory will be in contention.

Good luck!
